Via had ran up to Spence earlier and had handed her a yellow diary. After saying thanks and running back to her own dormitory she wrote HER first entry.

Dear Diary,

This summer has had so many surprises. Yet they were good surprises, don't get me wrong. Me finding Via and then Zanna finding Nat. Then when we all met and found out we were all related some how. Nat and Via sisters. Then those two are related to me as cousins. And then all three of us are Zanna's nieces. I went from small family and only child that I knew of to two new cousins. See, one of my mum's sisters was not a witch that we knew of. She left when she turned 18. Aunt Zanna is a witch and loves it. My mum is a witch and hates it. Three completely different people all in one family. No wonder I grew up so messed up. Now school is calling and I have to go to it or lose points.

I'm called Spence. Though my mother, when provoked, calls me Spencer Bailey Novack and I have a story to tell.
