Aha! One last dungbomb....on his person. He chucked it at the boy and shouted "BOOM!" as it exploded on him. Yuck!

In his best, deep, attractive voice, he said, "Why, hello there, professor."
Then he flew right on through her and continued floating. When Professor Shackleton saw the genuine fear in the girls' faces, she knew it wasn't a guilty fear of being caught. They were startled by the situation and Macadrian was determined to get to the bottom of it. But she didn't have long to wait when Peeves made his presence abundantly (and annoyingly) clear. She greeted the poltergeist as calmly as she would greet any person she hardly knew (but certainly knew of), "Hello yourself, Peeves. Long time no see. And yet you're here and causing havoc during your first appearance within these walls in a great many years? To what do we owe this occasion?"
