He lift a finger to his chin and rubbed it. "Chaser? Well you're in luck, actually. The team's captain is automatically a Chaser, I believe. And Clifford over there," he pointed at Clifford lazily, "Has been a Chaser since his first term. I would be going for Chaser this term, but... I've decided to try out for Seeker."
He chuckled a bit and shook his head very slightly. "You know, you're going to have to make time for Quidditch. You have to make every single practice. You can't get into detention and you most certainly will have to sacrifice time with friends in order to attend practice. Quidditch is not only a sport to play, it not only is for fun. It is a die hard competition to see which house is the best. That means sometimes disregarding your friends. Quidditch is something to be committed to. Are you committed?"
"Well I'm not only trying out for Chaser, I'm also trying out for Beater. Those two positions are the ones I can play best. Quidditch is in my blood, my father was a Chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch Team back in his day." Amanda said with a smile, while she listened to what else this guy had to say.
"I'm definately committed, I'll do whatever it takes just to have the chance to play for Slytherin and help steal the cup from those ruddy Ravenclaws. This isn't something I take lightly either, I will be staying out of trouble this term even if I don't make the team." She said seriously, showing this guy that she truly was committed to the team.
