"It's better if they run after the opposite team, y'know" she winked, but that was so unlikely to happen. For some reason no insects appeared during matches.

She laughed at what she said next. "Oh, my brother broke mine last year" she said, with a nod, "I don't know what he did, but it didn't work, which is why on my fourth year I started out with a new one...or was it my third year?" she said, still wondering which year was it, "Well, it doesn't matter, what matters is that you have to keep it away from them" brothers, that is, "I'm so glad they're alright, and that you may not have homesickness issues this time around" she winked, Kaika's homesickness time was summer, when she away from Hogwarts.
"Yes, yes. Better to go after opposing teams. I don't think I even know Dominic, besides practices and matches. But he's definitely unseeable at practices!" Emalyn laughed. "I suppose I just like someone to tease."

"Yes. I wouldn't be able to take it if my brother broke my wand..." Emalyn widened her eyes at Kaika. "He would get it if he did." Emalyn made a fist and pursed her lips evily.

"Oh yeah. No homesickness. I mean, it's inevitable that I'll miss them sometime...but not yet." Emalyn winked back.

And it's not so bad, I'm actually kind of looking forward to what the future has instore for me. For everyone else, too." She smiled warmly, knowing fully well she would keep contact with all of her friends just like she did with the ones to graduate before her. Change was just.. well, different. It was new, and a little frightening. But it was also exciting, all in one.

At this, a laugh escaped the seventh year. "She's very determined to be a Hufflepuff." Savannah informed her fellow brunette, emphasizing the 'very' part. Her expression was a rather amused one. Katie and Alexis' little brother argued over that ALOT. "Though, I wouldn't mind what house she gets into. We have had relatives in all four houses, I think atleast." She added, matter-of-factly. The last part going quietly unsure.
"Alright..." Emalyn sighed concernedly. "That's true. I bet your future's going to be fantastic!" she smiled encouragingly and nodded. "I understand though. A lot of change."

Emalyn listened to Vannah for a minute or two and laughed. "Well, that's good! More Huffie spirit! No, it wouldn't matter really which house she was in, but still..." Emalyn wondered about this whole relative thing for a moment. "You know, I wonder if I ever had relatives, distant or dead, that have been here? Or have been witches and/or wizards in some way, anyway. It would be really interesting. I can't seem to get over the fact that I would be the only one, you know? It's just odd."

"Uhmmmmm." she mumbled. "Stephanie..... have I mentioned her before?" (she hadn't been listening to Ema's response because she had been too busy giggling.)
"Oh, you see," Emalyn joked. "You do NOT giggle when your friend knocks over her juice. It's just a horrible indecent thing to do, you know!" Emalyn smirked. "Maybe you haven't mentioned a Stephanie, I'm really not sure. I don't think you'd just bring up your cousin spontaniously...but who knows? The name is just familiar. But there are so many Stephanie's, I'm sure."

Melanie took another sip, licking her lips. "I would love an owl. I'd like to keep in contact with my dad. I don't know about my brother though.." she said, giggling a bit. "Oh it's okay, I'm terrifyed of chickens." Melanie shivered. "With their small black eyes and those sharp beaks. It gives my the creeps. Not a big fan of roosters either. I guess I'm not really a farm person... I've lived in New York city my whole life. It's a big city in the United States." she informed her just in case she didn't know. "Thanks!" Melanie said grinning. She pocketed her wand. "We're kinda low on money but dad's paying for mine. I don't really get an allowance." she said her thoughts wandering.

Melanie giggled at Ema's Peter Pan story. "Oh, thats not so bad." she commented. "When I was smaller I loved the Disney stories. I think some of my favorites were Beauty and the Beast, The Lion king and Alice and Wonderland. Gotta love them talking animals. I liked Peter Pan too." she said smiling. "I like almost all of them!" she exclaimed. "I read a lot and I like drawing too."

Melanie grinned. "Brooms?" she asked brightening. "I thought I saw something in Diagon alley.... but I wasn't sure. There's so many things to look at. So wizards and witches really do use brooms? I don't know if I could do it. I'm so clumsy on the ground...."
"Yeah. Orange juice is always a welcoming beverage, eh?" Emalyn nodded. "Yes, an owl would be great for keeping in contact with people. I'm not terrified of them, I'm just not sure about them...yet. I can understand the chicken thing entirely, though. Some animals are frightening. New York city? Really? That's cool. I've heard of it. It's supposedly very very busy. Time Square, if I'm correct?" Emalyn nodded. "I can understand the money situation. My parents say they are stopping with my allowances sometime soon. Over the summer I babysit in my neighborhood, so I'm usually okay doing that. I used to put my allowance toward my college fund but...I don't really need that anymore. It didn't have much in it anyway...I think my parents use it for my books. How old is your brother?" Emalyn bit her lip. She wondered what Melanie meant when he mentioned her father and her brother, but not her mother. She didn't dare ask. She always said the wrong things...it was better not to start this with Melanie.

"Yes, those fairy tales were always very good, as well. Come to think of it, I liked Aladdin, too. I haven't seen Alice in Wonderland in years, though. All these new video forms has got the old classics held back, I think." Emalyn nodded and smiled. "Oh I love reading. And drawing is awesome. What sorts of things do you read and draw? I like mysteries...and I mostly draw people's faces...I'm not so good with sceneries, but I haven't tried too well."

"Uh-huh! Brooms! Yup, we really use them. I couldn't believe it either. Once I got into the air, I was alright. It's just making yourself do it the first time that's the worst. There are flying lessons here for that, though. I was on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team last term." Emalyn informed the first year, then a thought came to mind. "Oh, Do you what Quidditch is? I could loan you my Quidditch Through the Ages book, if you'd like. It's quite interesting.". Emalyn smiled gleefully. She could marry that book, if it were legal to marry objects. She had read it at least five times through by now, and enjoyed every single minute of it. "I hope we'll see each other a lot. Seeing as you're in the same house, we'll make sure of that, huh?" Emalyn laughed.
