She thought back on how the new Prefect was last term and Miranda couldnt say she really liked his attitude much. But he had seemed to change a bit, atleast he didn't seem that annoying back in Diagon Alley... "Professor Shackleton chose him for a reason, Im sure. Besides," she paused stuffing the tomato in her mouth, "Maybe this will be a good learining experience for him ya know?"
Miranda raised her eyebrows, chewing. Huh, since when was she so philosophic?

Just as Emalyn asked about Kaika being captain, Miranda had just taken more food into her mouth, this time it was some sallad with something salty she had no idea what it was, although it tasted very nice. She could only nod as Kaika explained the situation.

"What!?" Miranda wheezed for she had choked on some fries. What did she mean about Rapunzel?
Frowning, she asked confused, "Wha... What do you mean she's not in Hogwarts?"

Oh no... Was her lower lip trembling?
Certainly, everyone could see what she meant. But the events with the boy named Jack made her think that maybe Dominic was well-suited for Prefect after all, considering how he went over to where the boy was and actually tried to help, even if he didn't know what to do.

So, yeah...that made her change her mind a little bit.

She chuckled at the whole 'learning' experience. And shrugged, "I guess, you're right, this could be good for him" she said, and Miranda was also right on something, Professor Shackleton was good at what she did, so, there was no mistake there, right?

Miranda's sudden outburst made her jump. Oh, dear Merlin, had Miranda not realized that? Kaika started to play with her hands, not sure of what to say, but decided to speak all she knew, which wasn't much, "Umm, well, she's not here right now...and I heard she wasn't coming this term..." she made a mental note to send an owl to Rapunzel and find out what was that about, "...so, she won't be around" she muttered, a sad look on her face, but her eyes weren't looking at Miranda.

I don't like getting hurt, so there you have it." Emalyn looked down at her lap. She smoothed out her skirt, which she noticed had bread crumbs all over it, and looked back up at Kaika.

"My family is fine, I suppose. It was so great to see them again. My brother tried to steal my wand on numerous occasions and it stinks not being able to tell some of my muggle friends about it all, but they're all good." Emalyn smiled. "I'll definitely have an easier time this year, without them."
Ha. That's an amusing thought, having all the insects run after Dominic. No, no, being nice to the boy was essential to get along with him. But, come to think of it, he'd never been rude to her...except one time...she was the one who seemed to be rude to him for no apparent reason. Huh. Interesting.

"It's better if they run after the opposite team, y'know" she winked, but that was so unlikely to happen. For some reason no insects appeared during matches.

She laughed at what she said next. "Oh, my brother broke mine last year" she said, with a nod, "I don't know what he did, but it didn't work, which is why on my fourth year I started out with a new one...or was it my third year?" she said, still wondering which year was it, "Well, it doesn't matter, what matters is that you have to keep it away from them" brothers, that is, "I'm so glad they're alright, and that you may not have homesickness issues this time around" she winked, Kaika's homesickness time was summer, when she away from Hogwarts.

"Nope..." Jake pondered in his mind. He wouldn't dare reveal what he had in mind, and he pretty much figured out that the main teacher was the schloffing one who had the hearing of a bat. "Not too much trouble." Jake started to feel awkward. "I'll just work extra hard in lessons and on homework if anything does happen."

But he didn't want it to.

And there was still the fact that if he worked hard all year through then they'd have all the more points... but he was eleven years old. Jake needed fun!
Haha. He was about to say the tuna sandwich thing again. Good thing he didn't. Kaika smiled and pretended not to hear any of that. It was, after all, true. She'd never heard anything about any sandwich. Nope, she didn't.

And she laughed again, "Well, that's the most important thing..." she started to say, "...doing your homework" she nodded, but the most important thing was..of course..Quidditch. "Come on, you're barely a first year, we'll forgive you if you make us lose points" she said, then again, that Willie kid was also a first year, "Unless you're being reckless just for the fun of it" she added, narrowing her eyes.

Then shook her head, "Nah, I'm only joking, just enjoy school, Jake" that was probably the best advice he could get coming from her, without being related to Quidditch.

Hey, at least he wanted to work hard. A true Huffie, indeed. Because Huffies were hard working people.
