The potato - some of the best she had ever tasted, in fact - had been doing fairly well in convincing Kana that the Hogwarts was not, in fact, a blizzarding wilderness. She had settled down enough, in fact, to eavesdrop on other people's conversations and was slowly but surely gaining the idea that - but of course - Ravenclaw was highly overrated for being the clever house. She was just about to reach for another bun when from behind her, a voice - if you could call it a voice, Kana thought dourly. More like a whine, or a shrill, calculated to give one a headache - came from behind her:

“I apologize for saying expensive clothes does not suit you.” Matilda said once she was close enough, and far enough from the range of a parasol. “You look like a gnome right now.”
Kana was not a person given to witty repartee. She simply stopped, stared, realised that this person was not worthy of being hit with her parasol, and turned to fling her golden plate - replete with the remains of mashed potatoes, a sizeable load of gravy, several cakes and a banana - at Matilda. It all took about two seconds. Having rage and wiry little arms besides, the plate flew true and strong, food splattering everywhere like tiny missiles from a golden ship, and smacked Matilda straight in the gullet.

Who looks a mess now?" said Kana, maliciously. It wasn't the best, but actions certainly speak louder than words.
