Cadence followed Sarah's gaze up to the staff table to look at the teachers. Some of them definitely looked more friendly than others. Cadence wasn't too worried about the classes though, she had always been very good at school, but she supposed this would be different. This wasn't all going to be about reading a book and taking a test. Do you ever miss home?
Sarah sighed at the question.
"Yeah I did to start with.I'd never been away from home before on my own..boarding or otherwise." she looked down at the food and stretched forward to pour herself some pumpkin juice.
"I got used to it though,once classes started and you make friends.Plus you get to go home for christmas if you want!"
Sarah looked back up to the staff table as the new Headmaster began his speech.
"Oh..I don't think I know him..." she mumbled to herself as he continued talking.

Jake had returned to the table just as the Headmaster's speech began. Gah that little spoon-on-glass thing was irritating to say the least. The food appeared on Jake's plate and he suddenly realised he wasn't all that hungry. After a couple of bites, Jake screwed up his face and glanced up at the staff table, mainly that woman from Diagon Alley. How he longed for that green spiky hair to return and be permanent.
Not entirely sure if he was glaring or not, Jake stared up at this woman- Bunbury, was it?- who in turn had been staring down at the Hufflepuff table for quite a bit of the feast. Would she remember him? Jake wasn't totally sure, he had after all been sitting on the ground twitching like a total freak during the main confrontation. But she had been addressed by Trey for him and his purple shoes.
Glare.

Sarah noticed another first year arrive back at the table,presumably from meeting the new teachers.That was something she hadn't done last year...approach the hallowed dais.
She saw he didn't look all that happy as he sat next to her.Not knowing him,but not liking when someone was upset or angry she spoke to him.
"Ummm hi,are you ok? You look a little mad about something."
