Breathing a sigh of relief, Lasca gave a slightly laugh at her silliness. Of course they would be taken care of, this was Hogwarts for goodness sakes. Looking over at her companion and then at everyone else seated at the table she found most were already digging into the food.
Her companion gave a comment on the food and her stomach voice it's opinion in favor of her statement. Giggling lightly she loaded up her plate and began to eat. She was more hungry then she had realized. Glancing over at Sage she asked, "You are hungry too, yes?" He hadn't said much since Mariel had sat down, she didn't want to be rude and make him think she was ignoring him. The more house friends she had the better.
She was scanning the table and spotted a girl with a badge with the letter "C" on it. The inquisitive Ravenclaw swollowed her food, took a long draught of her pumpkin juice, and then turned to Mariel. "There is a girl down the table with a badge on, she is the Quidditch captain, no?" She didn't know if her friend would know her but she wanted to ask just in case.
Nodding as she quickly glanced down the table to the girl Lasca was gesturing towards, Mariel turned back to Lasca and said,
"Yes, I believe she is the new captain this year. Although I do wonder what happened to Ryan. I don't know her well, but she was a good beater last year."
Looking over at Sage, she added, "
I'm from just outside London, too. I'm surprised we haven't met before." Well, not completely surprised given her sheltered childhood, but they could have run into each other at Diagon Alley, she was there so much.
Glancing up at the staff table, her green eyes lingered on the man that had just seated himself in the center seat.
"Is Professor Bontecou the new Headmaster?" she mused aloud, more to herslf, eyes widened slightly in surprise to this revelation.
