She gave Elizabeth a quizzical look as the other girl spoke again and she looked slightly uncomfortable. " If it's because of me, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for anyone else to get involved in my issues with her. But I am resolving to close said issues once and for all, if I can." She said honestly, shaking her foot a bit as she sat. She looked between Robert and Elizabeth as the blond gave him a look; Interesting. " This is true," She said with a quiet little smile. " I can't wait to see what the new Professors are like...although, again, as you say it will be odd without Asteira." She sighed a bit as she thought of her friend back in France." Yes, there's plenty to stay busy with in France," She said, remembering her old school and how much trouble she had gotten into there. " But, that's life for you, always unpredictable." She watched as Robert played with Bella, momentarily absorbed in that for a time.

Mari smiled as Robert replied to her statement about trying to be unnoticeable and she nudged him lightly. " What's that supposed to mean?" She said, teasing him a little. " Indeed. I've seen her live up to that very description." She said with an arched brow at the little feline. Just then though more interesting tidbits fell forth from her friends. " What happened? Did Kayla say something to both of you?" She asked, her gaze moving between the two as she spoke. " About me? " She added, feeling a bit guilty again as she was beginning to suspect her friendship was getting people in trouble.

He continued to play the cat as the two girls spoke to each other and at the mention of Kayla looked up and met Elizabeth's glance, "What...? You know even if I hadn't gone off I'd doubt she'd like you much just for hanging out with me AND Mariska so I don't get all the blame there."
Elizabeth started to feel bad when Mari assumed her problem with Kayla had to do with the whole Nicholai thing, and spoke up, her eyes wide. "No. I mean, she had seemed to get past that after I told her that I wasn't going to immediately hate her because of everything, when she saw me with you," she said to the other girl, worried about any misinterpretation. "But closing those issues is definitely a good idea, if just so the next couple terms aren't completely horrible. Especially since Kayla's a prefect now." She trailed off as she saw Mari look between her and Robert with a strange look on her face, like she was analyzing something. But she shook it off as the topic changed again, and smiled. "Yeah. Do you even know how many new professors we're supposed to be getting this term? Because I don't think Rae had made it clear when she announced her departure, and said others were leaving too. And, speaking of which, I wonder who the new headmaster or headmistress is going to be, too."

She remained quiet as Mari spoke of Asteira again, almost wistfully. It was hard for her, since she hadn't really been able to spend a lot of time with Asteira or Mari last term, and then there was the time when Asteira wouldn't even talk to her. She was glad they'd resolved that, but it didn't make her feel any better about last term. "Wouldn't it be boring if life was predictable?," she asked airily, trying to disguise her quiet as just thoughtfulness.

Elizabeth grinned as Robert expressed the confusion over how she had described Bella. "Oh, she can be calm sometimes too. The trouble usually happens when she's left alone," she said. And then Mari caught on to the comment Robert had made to her about Kayla, and her eyes widened again. "No. Kayla didn't really bring your name up, that time," she blurted out without thinking, then looked at Robert again. "I wasn't putting all the blame on you. I thought we had established that already. And she had apparently gotten past my friendship with Mari already, so I don't see why we need to bring her into this, and make her feel bad." Then she fell silent, almost surprised that she had said all of that, and starting to worry.
