There were two good reasons Tobi couldn't get stung by a scorpion:

1. He had no intention of ever touching it. Gross/Potentially OW!
2. It seemed to have taken up residence in a very personal place of Celadine's so to touch the scorpion -

Tobi's face flushed Gryffindor red in a flat second. "I wouldn't- It would be inappropri - whimbitty-" Tobi gulped. "Excuse me, I must be leaving now."

Tobi ignored his growling stomach and banked on his mother's tendency to pack snacks in his luggage. The conversation was far too deep into the realm of the crazy females, he wanted very much to get back to his compartment, where the only girl was Aggie, and she wasn't very crazy, or very girlie either for that matter.
