The sliding of the door caught Issy’s attention and she looked up at a familiar face in the doorway. It was in Diagon Alley that she’d met the girl… Vannie, was it? And there she stood, asking permission to enter. Her eyes were cast down to the ground, though, and Issy couldn’t help but catch the feeling that she seemed a little down.

“Hey Vannie,” she greeted. “Come on in. It’s fine.”

Before Vannie had a chance to enter, though, it seemed, someone was barging in through, pushing her to the side and a loud squeal of “Isssssy” was heard and suddenly, Juni was pouncing atop her, pushing her into a seat and falling into her lap, clinging dearly to her. It took Issy a moment to process exactly what was going on before her arms tightened around her friend. Holding her tightly, Issy released her breath.

“Juniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiii!” she squealed loudly, feeling her eyes growing wet. “Is it you Juni? Is it really, really you?” Her voice cracked as the tears filled her eyes and she could feel them clinging helplessly to her lashes. Holding her friend tightly, she knew she was being squished and unable to breathe, but she also couldn’t let go. It had been so long! So very long since they’d seen each other. Over a year.

Blinking through her blurry vision, Issy wiped her eyes to make sure she was, in fact, Juni. Sure enough, that was Juni’s dark hair and curls and her demeanor. That was Juni. Her Juni! The tears continued to spill over and Issy hugged her tighter to her.

“Don’t you ever leave me again, Juniper Goodwin!” Issy scolded through her tears, her voice quivering. “Hear me? Never, ever, ever go away!”

She was so wrapped up in the reunion that she didn’t even notice Willow’s less than dramatic entrance.
