Maddox shook his head and said, "Well he is Pax. Once he gets an idea in his head he never lets it die." He smiled at the thought. He and Pax had gotten into a lot of trouble in the past. They were pretty close. Then she asked.
He sighed and blurted out, "Nico isn't coming back this term and didnt even tell me. I overheard him having a fight yesterday in DA with Anna and he told her he wasnt coming back. He never saw me, but I mean...he's my best friend. He could have at least told ME." He looked out the window and sighed. He still felt a little betrayed. He couldnt believe that Nico wouldnt tell him something this important.
Penny nodded in agreement with him.
"That is so true. But he tortured me with it all summer. I wanted to hide." she told him. Mads and Pax were good friends and she knew of some of the mischief they got themselves into becasue of Pax's ideas.
Penny looked up at Mads when he sigh. When he told her that Nico was not coming back she froze.
"What? Did you hear why? Seriously, that is crazy." she said and gave him a hug when he looked out the window. She knew how he felt.
"I am sorry." she whispered. She really did not know what do say to him.
