Maddox heard a faint knock on the door to the compartment and then Penny walked in. He looked up from his journal and smiled. "Of course my love." He gave her a gentle kiss and pulled her into a hug. "I've missed you so much." He let her go and gave her a weak smile.
He was pretty sure she didnt know yet, but he knew she would figure out something was wrong with him. "How was your summer? when i wasnt there of course." He smirked and started twisting a lock of her hair around his fingers.
Penny hugged him back.
"And I missed you." she told him as she kissed him back. She caught the smile, but did not say anything just yet. She was going to let him tell her. Penny gave him a small smile.
"It was fine." she said with a sigh. She leaned into him.
"Lets just say Pax was not in his right mind. It got worse when you left." she told him.
