Dominic wasn't really sure whether Newell was really happy for him or not with being prefect. Part of him wanted to say that silly Gryffindor was indeed proud to be working along side, but at the same time they never really had been the best of friends. Well as long as they were civil, then there wasn't really much more to have hoped for.
He noticed that Cale followed his own smirk with one himself; oh yes, this was going to definitely be an exciting term. But then he proceeded to tell him about the wild kids and practical jokes. Was Newell for real? Because he was certainly making it seem like this Prefect job was going to difficult. And even though Dominic should have been worried - he wasn't. "Oh really? But wouldn't pranking the new Head classify as some sort of means for expulsion?" He raised one brow, not believing the older Gryffie one bit.
But before Dominic had the moment to dwell more on the subject of wild kids and pranking, the door slid open which meant that another of the prefects would be arriving. To no surprise of Denton, it was the lovely Girlfriend of the curly haired boy across the compartment. Of course she spoke to him first and took a seat next to him to make herself comfortable before eying him. "Hmm?" he answered, at first unaware she was speaking to him. "Oh hey Anna, yes, I suppose this new year will bring many great surprises." And that was saying something, considering the numbers of surprises he'd already encountered before the train.
Including a fifth year hufflepuff by the name of Kayla Winters. The moment he thought about that though, it was hardly a second later when the door slid open once again and the blond stepped inside smiling instantly towards the happy lovesick Gryffindor couple and offering him a mere incline. "Hello Winters," he inclined his head in return, simply shrugging at her 'pretty cool' comment. He highly doubted she wanted to speak to him anyway. "Looking forward to the upcoming term?"
