Vannie wandered up towards the owlery, today looking at least a little better than she had done on previous days. She was still looking rather pale, but at least it was healthy pale. Hopefully people wouldn't tell that anything was wrong. Unless they looked closely at her eyes, they'd see that she'd been crying.
She had come to send a letter back to her Mother. Her rather protective Mother. She had been rather worried about her other the previous few weeks, and Vannie had written back to tell her that she was okay. But of course she hadn't told her about the whole Miles thing. She wasn't going to tell her that.
Walking into the owlery she saw that Rapunzel was already there. "Hey Punz," She attempted to smile at the Huffie as she beckoned her Owl down.
Archimedes landed by Punz at last and she petted the little owl's head gently. He hooted kindly, seeming nice for once, and Punz beamed at him as she tied her scroll on.
"There, take this to Dad and make sure Mum doesn't see!" Punz whispered to the owl.
"Off you go!"
Ah, life was good. Punz turned to head out the owlery and then she spotted one of her star Quidditch players behind her.
"Vannnnnnie!" she called out cheerfully, still beaming.
"How are....you?" Rapunzel's smile started to fade a little as she took in her fellow's Puff's disheveled appearance and sad eyes.
