Pansy never knew what hit her when she collapsed under Blaise’s well aimed “Stupefy!” Draco hated doing this to people he used to be close to; despite the fact their loyalties now lay in completely opposite directions, he hadn’t forgotten the years he and Pansy had dated, or how much the girl had meant to him then.
“Incarcerous!” he whispered as he and Blaise slipped past, not pausing to watch the ropes bind her body and immobilize her in case she regained consciousness too early.
“You did the right thing, mate,” Blaise patted the blond’s shoulder as they hid in the shadows, cursing the back of every Death Eater they saw, and shooting badly aimed spells at the members of the Order (ones just like themselves) when one of Voldemort’s supporters paid any attention to them.
The two boys had not yet been branded traitors.
