She said, smiling lightly and laughing just the tiniest bit. She was lying of course. She still felt quite foolish, despite what assurances Asteira had given her. She had no idea what was wrong with her; She wasn't supposed to feel like this about him, it wasn't supposed to still hurt. But it did. She pushed the thoughts away and spoke again. " How do you think you did on the exams?" She asked, looking for a neutral subject to discuss. As Mari answered her question about if she was okay, Elizabeth studied her closely. The smile and laugh seemd a bit forced, even though the actual answer could have been true. "Exams were pretty stressful," she said, a tiny bit of suspicion in her tone. Something was bothering her friend, and she wasn't sure she wanted to let it slide. But since Mari tried to change the subject, she shrugged. "I hope I did well. I mean, as far as I could remember, I was able to answer everything. But I guess we'll just have to wait until we get our scores," she said, turning entirely toward her. "So what are you going to do over break?," she asked. "Visiting any friends from school?" If she was entirely honest to herself, she had no idea what she was going to do. She should go back home to California, but part of her didn't want to.
