Dominic blinked as one moment his hand was on black and gold colorings, but the next it was hovering in midair as the panel slid back to reveal a room with a mirror. Or a window. Nonetheless, the fourth year dropped his hand to his side as he entered the shallow room, hardly noticing if anyone was with him or not. That was when he saw the figure: Professor Shackleton, the strange Arithmancy professor who always seemed to be eating, was trapped.
Opening his mouth in shock, the fourth year looked back to see the panel close behind him and reveal a door. One door back to the school or to safety. The other on the right would lead him to help Shackleton. Now was his moment to act selflessly; to follow his personal month number and do something for others. And thus, Dominic's decision was made for him. Taking a few slow steps, he placed his hand on the right door handle and opened it...
