The lift seemed to take forever to arrive, and finally Tara's nature overcame her stubborness. Turning to Snape, she took in the tight line of his mouth and the rigidness of his posture. "I'm sorry," she said, trying to be sure her voice was loud enough to be heard over the clattering of the lift. "I believe we got off on the wrong foot back there. My intention was not to insult or belittle you, but sometimes I let my curiousity get the better of my judgement. I assure you I meant no harm," she fell silent at his still-black expression.
