"M'kay, your turn," Mariel said distractedly as she vanished the bandages off her arm. She hoped the class would be over soon. She was getting along well with Nancy she thought, but it was rather dull work to keep practicing the same spells over and over again. Maybe they could do something fun after class.
Nancy smirked at Mariel, in a sort of mocking way, though.
"Yes, very funny. You should consider doing something like that for a living some time." She rolled her eyes and snickered at her own joke.
Nancy was quite glad that Mariel agreed on going first again since she wasn't in the mood right now. Which could also be translated into: She was afraid that she wouldn't be able to properly manage the last spell again which she would be very embarrassed of. Watching the Ravenclaw girl casting all three spells perfectly only once sighing in disgust as the part with the ointment was coming Nancy was getting more anxious every minute. It would be horrible for her ego if Nancy shouldn't be able to do the last spell especially after having Mariel seen it do perfectly.
With a sigh Nancy turned to look at the professor. Maybe the lesson would end before she had to try again. Maybe. It was highly unlikely, though, judging by the professor's expression they weren't going to stop anytime soon. So, she probably would have to try again. Slowly taking Mariel's arm she used the right spell to make a splint appear around it. So far so good. The next two spells weren't causing Nancy any problems either and quicker than she probably would have liked she was supposed to cast the last spell. Okay, concentrate, Nancy. You can do this. Inhaling deeply she pointed her wand at Mariel's arm once again and concentrated with all her might. Muttering the incantation Nancy noticed with a sigh of relief that bandages were appearing from the tip of her wand and were wrapping themselves around Mariel's arm. Phew.
