But she was interrupted by the professor who told them to watch some Ravenclaws demonstrate the next spell. Watching them she remembered having already practiced this spell as well with her dad last summer. Still it was Rachel's turn to practice now so she turned back to her and said, "Okay, now it's your turn. I'll cast a spell on you and you try to block it with Finite Incantatem, okay?" Gripping her wand firmly in her hand she added, "Ready? Tarantallegra!" Watching the stream of light shoot towards Rachel she wondered whether the girl would be able to stop it in time.
Rachel stared as her wand flew out of her hand.
"Well done!" she said enthusiastically as the girl gave her back her wand. Just as she was about to cast the spell, they were stopped by the professor. Oh well, she thought as she turned and watched the demonstration.
Nodding, she turned back to Nancy.
"Right," she said and prepared. Nancy said the spell and Rachel tightened her grip on her wand and said clearly,
"Finite Incantatum!" The spell stopped about two inches from her nose.
"Close one! Want to give it a go?" she said, and gave Nancy time to prepare herself.
"Tarantallegra!" The spell flew towards Nancy...
