Nicholai looked up with mild consternation flickering over his face as he looked first at the Intern and then at Kayla. He regarded Kayla for a long moment before responding in a low voice, "Pairing up; to arrange in sets of two, a coupling; requiring teamwork and more importantly, trust ..." He trailed off and licked his lip absently before offering a helpless looking shrug and staring fixedly at the ground; doing his absolute best not to think about the subject in relation to Kayla and failing miserably. Nico looked up and glared at her before looking away again.
