Looking around, Mariel noticed everyone pairing up or if they didn't have a partner, they joined a group. Maybe they could be partners or at least she could join the group as she knew Nathaniel to be part of the group as well. Making her way across the room, Mariel stood behind the boy and said, "Hey Lucas, wanna be partners?" She much rather be paired with another first year than an older student. Even playing field.
