Turning around at the sound of a rather familiar voice Nancy recognized Miranda coming towards her. Looking back and forth between Miranda and the girl she had just paired up with she whispered with a genuine sad expression on her face, "I'm sorry, Miranda. I just paired up with...uhm..." She made a vague hand movement towards the girl standing next to her since she had just realized that she didn't even know her name. "I really am sorry."
"Rachel, I'm Rachel," she said, helping the girl out.
"And you?" She then turned to watch as the Gryffindor prefect demonstrated how to do the spell properly. She studied his hand motion carefully and then turned back to her partner.
"Ready to give it a go?" she asked, itching to try it out.
