Macadrian clarified, "Actually, when you add each of the numbers to find your Personal Year, they have to be reduced first. Nine and six are already single digits, so those can't be reduced further, but the year 2066 can be reduced. To do so, you add the 2 plus 0 plus 6 plus 6, to get a total of 14. But this number is not a single digit, and thus, can be further reduced again. So we add 1 plus 4 to get 5. Add this five to the original nine and six and you get twenty. Reduce twenty to 2 plus 0, to get two. Your Personal Year number is two." Macadrian said it as if it were the most simple and uncomplex thing, and to her mind it was, but she recognized that for students just beginning to study the subject, this concept of reducing numbers was an odd one.
