Rachel walked into the common room, depressed. She went to get Cloudy, and then picked the darkest corner of the room, where she sat down. She pulled her knees up to her face and stared at the fire for a few moments, letting all her thoughts settle. She stroked the kitten absentmindedly, her face blank, emotionless.
Then suddenly, the waterworks began, and she cried into her knees, deep heart-wrenching sobs, though she was actually very quiet. Only those who were extremely close could hear her. She cried and cried and cried and cried. She knew that she hadn't been fair, that her response to that letter had been just short of awful. But what was she supposed to do? She couldn't turn to her parents, they were the ones that lied to her. My mum, my grandparents... they're all liars!
