Helena giggled quietly, but loud enough for him to hear her, and blushed quickly. She turned the other direction immediately after, letting a long sheet of reddish brown hair fall over her face to shield her embarrassment from Cale.
Cale could hear that Slytherin girl next to him giggling at him, and he blushed, both in a mixture of embarrassment of dropping his wand, and the Professor snapping at the girl and telling her to concentrate on her spellwork rather than other students.
He picked up his wand again and practiced his wand movement for another minute before he finally felt ready to try the spell. "
Sinstra Lumina," he muttered. There was a tiny spark in his palm, but not a full ball of light. Sighing and concentrating even harder, he tried again. "
Sinstra Lumina," he muttered yet again. This time, he heard the fateful crackle and blinked as a ball of light appeared in his hand. He grinned and let it hang there for a few seconds before closing his hand around it and extinguishing it.
