I mean, I was trying to be friendly, coming over here and saying hello." Friendliness certainly was not her strong suit although she would make occassional attempts... in her own way of course. Mariel thought for a moment. "It's not about the points is it? Surely you can't still be upset over my comment earlier... Although I do find it quite interesting that you know the exact total of all the House points, even I don't know that." She watched him curiously for a moment. Mariel was one to easily get over things, usually anyway, so it was beyond her understanding that anyone could continue to be upset over one silly comment she made previously.
Then he said something to make her snicker. "Little Miss Perfect huh?" Mariel thought for a moment, then nodded. Of course he wouldn't know her name either. "I kinda like that. You may continue to call me that if I can keep calling you Gryffie Boy... provided you lose the sarcasm." Mariel raised her eyebrow speculatively at him.
Nathaniel looked around the store. It was nice in here. He didn't feel like making a scene and upsetting the shop keeper. He pushed up his glasses and retorted,
"My dear girl I didn't take it as you being nice come up and asking me if I'd lost anymore points. You chose to make a few snide remarks on a very bad day. Not your fault of course.. but it still happened.. Nathaniel was sizing the girl up. Father would absolutely beat him if he knew that Nate was talking to a girl in this manner.
"Look, I'm sorry I've been a jerk. I've been really ticked off today. Okay?" he said with a serious face and continued
"You can call me Gryffie Boy if you like but for the record my name is Nathaniel. he stuck his left hand out to shake hers.
