Pheonix saw Kairi wince out of the corner of her eye, but she didn't mind, she often got funny looks when it came to the multitude of bruises she had on show.

She stopped that thought where it was. 'I'm sorry for both of you,' she whispered, her voice tight and her eyes guarded as she kept the emotion from the errant thought from showing on her face.
'Don't worry about it, you get used to the funny looks and stuff. I just hate it when everybody keeps saying sorry.' said Pheonix, pouring some pumpkin juice into a goblet and taking a sip.Pheonix hated having sympathy, a little now and then wasn't bad, but at the moment everyone seemed to be sorry for her.

Pheonix nodded in agreement, you did, after about 2 or 3 days. 'Marshmellows?' Pheonix asked with a laugh. She hadn't had marshmellows in years, her mother had stopped buying them because she was afraid they'd make Pheonix fat.

She snorted in spite of herself. Fairytale? They don't exist, she thought, cursing herself for her stupidity but unable to take the words back, no matter how much she wished.

'Marshmellows?' Mina frowned. 'What're marshmellows?'
'Some people do say that their lives are like fairytales compared to ours. But, as it says in a well-known Muggle song: 'Its not always rainbows and butterflies.'' Pheonix sang the last part of her answer, a small faraway look in her eyes. 'You don't know what marshmellows are?' asked Pheonix in surprise.

'These are Muggle food?' she asked, double checking. She'd never seen them before, which was strange, considering the amount of time she spent in supermarkets. Then again, when shopping, she'd only ever had eyes for what she needed.

Swallowing, she turned the marshmellow around for a moment before placing it cautiously in her mouth. The sweet taste unnerved her somewhat as she chewed it before swallowing.

'Okay. That was . . . different.' Mina coughed. 'But not pleasant, either.' She pulled a face, passing the bag back to Kairi.
Pheonix laughed as Mina pulled a face after eating the marshmellow. 'That's what I first thought when I ate one when I was 7, there's a certain knack to eating them or you feel sick afterwards.' she said.

Pheonix laughed even harder at Kairi and wiped a tear of laughter from her eye. 'Oh Kairi, you'll be the death of me at this rate.' she giggled and had to take a sip of the pumpkin juice in front of her.
