The walls had actually remained blue for a few terms. Even the ceiling had somehow got painted blue. It was fabulous to Lainey and she had a certain Slytherin or two to thank for it. Her office was decorated with a plethora of books and knicknacks, ungraded papers, and costumes she used for her classes. A few baby toys were strewn about from when she kept Rae's girls on the occasion.
But, by far, her most prized possession was a picture of Rae and herself at Auror training camp so many years ago. It was front and center of her desk for all to see.
As you enter the office, Lainey is sitting at her desk writing out plans for her first lesson of the term. Her bucket of peppermints sits near her hand, as does her wand.
