Snape looked down at the phial resting in his palm. "So, you've already tested it, I gather that is why you were able to..." he left the sentence hanging, not wanting to bring up that unfortunate incident again. "How long does it last and what dosage does it need to be taken in?"
He couldn't believe he was doing this. He deserved whatever punishment he got and here he was, attempting to get out of it. Well, self preservation tended to be a trait among Slytherins. The fact that he thought he should feel guilty about excaping punishment was only a sign that he had been hanging around Dumbledore and the Gryffindors in the Order for far too long.
