Shane sighed quietly at her desk. Her desk was finally a mess and the work day seemed to be going by really slow. Normally the work day went by pretty fast, but today was a different day. That was a sign that work was to be done.
Shane started to clean her desk so she could actually see it. What if Syd had came in to this? That certainly wouldn't be good at all. That was when she heard a paper airplane whiz by her head. It nearly hit her too!
She glanced up and noticed that it was at an empty desk. Egypt was already on the case, reading the note. What was this about? They got tons of notices each day, but it looked like this was from Syd. She could tell by the cursive-print hybrid handwriting that belonged to the Head of the Department.
She walked over to the desk with the notice. By the time she was half-way there, Egypt had dashed right past her. She had a bit of a confused look on her face, but Shane still had no idea what was going on. She then printed the rest of the way over to the notice and read:
Quote:
Morning everyone,
The Ministry is going to be holding a world convention soon. As such, we have a lot to do. I need you judges to start thinking and maybe drafting some form of World Court. You'll be dealing with judges from all over the world so you'll have to think of everyone. It's a big job, but it has to be done.
Also, if Lestrange is still there, tell him we need to wrap up the Melvicks case before the convention comes. Our courtrooms are going to be needed for this convention.
~Syd
Shane read over the notice about three times before it started to make sense in her head. They were going to host a world convention and judges from around the world would be here. This was a total shocker! She never expected it. But what exactly did they have to do? That must've been why Egypt was in a hury to run over there. She was going to see Syd.
Shane sighed. This was going to be something big for sure. She'd make sure the ask Egypt what this was all about when she came back from Syd's office. It was probably best to let one judge ask him what they were to do. Anyway, there are another bit of an assignment for someone to tell Edward Lestrange to finish the Melvicks case. She could do that.
Taking a quick look around the room, she could see that Lestrange was still talking with Piper Underwood. She put down the notice on the desk and walked over to where the two were. Hopefully she wouldn't be interrupting anything.
"Excuse me," Shane began softly.
"Mr. Lestrange, we just got a notice from Mr. Wordsmith saying that there's going to be a world convention soon and he wanted to let you know that the Melvicks case needs to be wrapped up before the convention comes."
