"So, how are things really going with you?" she asked, turning the conversation a little more serious. "The last time I saw, you were bummed out about the letter from your mom and from...other things, too. How are you doing?" She'd opted to say "other things" instead of "a disagreement with Cora." Bringing up her name just didn't seem like the right thing to do right now. Cale had seemed really upset about something dealing with her, and Anna thought it may make him more upset to hear her name.
"Well, I've accepted the whole thing with my mum, I mean, I've always like Aaron so it's cool. It's his daughter I'm going to have problems with. Do you know Ezra Greenboat? I think she's a year younger than you...anyways, if you don't know her, thank Merlin. Because she is the worst little demon child I've ever met in my life," he explained quickly. He chuckled. It was unbelievable how much of a brat that little girl was.
Oh, she had brought up Cora. Just like he had hoped she wouldn't. "Well, I figured that...well, I have to take care of that at Hogsmeade, and soon," he said, running a hand through his hair and sighing deeply. "I'm kind of dreading it, actually."
He sighed and looked down at his watch. OHMIGOSH! Where had the time gone? "
Ohmigosh!" he cried, jumping up so fast it made him a little dizzy. "We have 10 minutes till curfew sets in. Merlin, I'm going to have to run to make it back," he muttered. "Well, um, I guess I'll see you tomorrow, then," he said quickly, giving her a hug goodbye. "See you at tryouts!" he called.
Then he hurried toward the door, paused at the door to wave goodbye, and then rushed back towards Coopers.
