Rian walked back into the owlery. She really didnt want to, but she knew her dad would keep sending her letters if she didnt. Her owl flew down and landed on her shoulder and she pulled a piece of parchment and a self-inking quill out of her parchment and began to write.

Rian finished her letter and tied it to Fairy's leg. "THis is for Dad. Dont except any letter back, and peck him until he gives you food and water." She instructed. The bird 'nodded' and flew off through the window.
Rian watched her until she was just a black dot in the clouds, then trudged back down the stairs.
