The reason I got the badge was, I believe, because of my good marks while being homeschooled, and I think that after I left from being sorted in the summer--they did that so I wouldn't be sorted with the first years--they saw something in me and thought I would make a good prefect. After his little display of annoyance earlier, he figured this professor was safe. "I know that the Ministry is very strict at Hogwarts this year, and I'm scared for everyone. I'm afraid that a simple slip of the tongue could get someone in trouble, so that is why I have been so harsh. I don't want anyone getting themselves in some hot water with Ministry officials. Trust me, I never planned on being such an uptight prefect, but I'm doing my job, and unfortunately the new rules and regulations here force me to be just a little bit tougher than I probably would be any other term."

He sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Ok, that's my say on the matter," he said with a soft smile.
