Rian walked back up to the owlery. Fairy had flown fast, Rian already had an answer from her mum. She called Fairy down and pulled the reply from her jacket.

"Here's a treat." she said to the owl pulling one out of her pocket. "This is for mum. Don't let dad read it." she told her owl. It hooted quietly and took off through the window.
