Kayla walked back into the owlery she had forgotten to send her favourite Uncle Nic a letter and as he lived by himself, he loved it when she sent him letters. Cleo sat waiting for her, she had called her back before she gotten too far on her journey. "Sorry Cleo, this the last one I promise" Kayla murmured stroking her owl on the head. She quickly sat down and wrote her letter;

Dear Uncle Nic,
Hey train trip was good, I made another new friend she's nice her name's
Cela. We had a lovely time talking, getting to know each other. School
is different this year, they have made changes but I'm sure it'll turn out
fine. The other girls seem to think that anyway, they think it's best if
I wait and find out more before doing anything stupid. It won't be easy,
will try my hardest to behave. I can't wear your ring but I will
keep it safe. Hopefully in the future I will get the chance to speak to
my old friends again. I am also hoping that the staff make good on their
promise that everything will be fine. Anyway it's getting late, should go
to bed. Let me know how things are at your end and I'll talk to
you soon.

She folded the letter and gave it to Cleo. "Deliver this one first to good old Nico" she gave the owl a significant look and Cleo hooted reassuringly. "Good girl, I promise a nice long rest after this" she whispered as Cleo took flight once more.
