It meant he got a good kneb at all the guests, and their presents, on their way in.
Jake nodded at Nathan, quickly shaking the outstretched hand before dropping his own. He wasn't one for any physical form of touching, even shaking hands.
'Guess it is,' he replied, not really caring. Weddings weren't exactly his favourite things to attend, and he certainly didn't mind missing out on them.

Having run so she wasn't too late, she'd ended up using more energy than she'd expected and was now out of breath.
She spotted Nathan first and smiled sheepishly at him as she straightened up, brushing down the skirt of the black dress she was wearing, trying to force her cheeks to return to their normal colour.
As soon as she had enough breath back, she straightened up. 'I'm so sorry!' she apologised, looking at Nicoli and Forrester. 'What are we doing?' she asked, not looking at anyone, instead looking at the floor, which she suddenly found very interesting.
At the sight of the young woman skidding to a halt, Jake sucked in a deep breath, his eyes widening in disbelief - both at how late she was and
who she was. It took him a moment to avert his eyes, but he forced them to wander around the room so he needn't acknowledge her presence.
He felt it rude not to, though, so he turned back to her after she finished speaking and nodded, keeping his face blank.
'Apha,' he greeted her.
