Merlin must REALLY have it in for me this term. Cale frazzling Newell is my co-prefect. I can't even be in the same room with him for five minutes without arguing over something. I've never met a boy who's as much of a drama queen as I am.

I really want to get along with him, though. That's the bad thing about it. His cousin is my very best friend, and she'd be so upset if she found out. What do you do when the one person you want to get along with more than anything else turns out to be the one person you have the most trouble getting along with?

What is it with the boys at this school?

I guess we're...sort of...supposed to," she mumbled, digging through her bag and putting her badge on.

She turned her attention back to Josh. "So, Josh," she started. "You attented the Quidditch matches, huh? Thanks for the compliment about my game skills. I'm hoping to make the team again this year. There's going to be a lot of good competition. Are you in your seventh year now?" she asked.

He wanted her to say something exciting, and then maybe it would just happen to move into a conversation, where he would just let it slip that he was the new prefect.

"Sure, I don't mind," Cale said as the boy entered their compartment. Oh fun, more people to meet! The happiness he had felt meeting new classmates in Diagon Alley was coming back fast.

Cale blinked. Wait, what? Had that boy just said what he thought he said? Anna was a prefect? No, there was NO WAY Anna Griengoth was his fellow prefect..."Anna, you're prefect?" he asked, his eyes growing wide as he asked her to confirm this startling turn of events. Oh goodness, if she was the new prefect, his life at Hogwarts had just gotten a lot more difficult.

"Yes, I am prefect, Cale. So you better watch out or I'll have to unleash my claws on you," she giggled, holding her hand up in a "cat claw" motion and giving him her evil grin again. This was classic. PERFECT. No wait, this was better than perfect. This was Anna Greingoth letting Cale Newell know that he just got PWNED.

"Oh really?" he asked, smirking at her in return and raising his eyebrows in a taunting sort of way, he reached into his pocket with his good hand, pulled out his badge, and smacked it right on his chest. Ok, so it didn't stick the first time, but he got it to stay on his robes the second time, and he was sure the impact was just as great. "Hate to break it to you, but I'm a prefect too. So you'd better watch your back, or I'll unleash my fangs on you!"

BAM! He was proud of himself for that little comeback. It was time to see Anna Griengoth speechless. This might be one of the proudest moments of his life, and he couldn't keep himself from grinning with excitement.
