The Sphinx leaned forward with a menacing look on his face,his face close enough to Emily's that his hot, stale breath wafted over her. He then suddenly smiled an enigmatic smile at Emily and nodded once. She had passed the test; she would live this day.
"Cook. Ease."
The Sphinx leaned forward and quickly took the cookies with his mouth. He was surprisingly nimble and graceful about it. He ate them quickly, then nodded again once at the girl. He turned and strode out of the office, heading toward the break room.
