Theme 47: Twitchy Ears Hex


“You planning something you shouldn’t be, again?”

Remus sounded inquiring as he sank into his favourite sofa. James and Sirius sat nearby, conversing in low, excited voices.

Sirius snickered.

James snickered even harder.

“No,” both said, in unison.

Usually, both of them would have told Remus what they were up to. However, seeing how it was his birthday in two hours, and their mate- slash-werewolf seemed to have forgotten this, and that their plan directly involved him, they didn’t.

Remus, warming his hands by the fireplace, was sure he heard the words “Twitchy ears hex” and “chocolate chip cookies” but, since the two seemed completely unrelated, he did not pay much attention. Half an hour when he heard the word ‘Remus’ however, he had to sit up straighter: Not good.

“Guys?” he asked, a little nervously.

Sirius snickered. James gave him a look, and he immediately sobered up. “Yes, Moony?”

“You sure you aren’t up to something you shouldn’t be, again?”

“Moony, my boy, would we ever plan anything without letting you know?” James asked, in a solemn voice, which nearly made Sirius snicker again.

“Well… no…” Remus admitted. “But…”

Sirius snickered.

James snickered, too.

“Yes!” both said, in unison.
