Jace's eyes narrowed slightly. "Yeah, right," he said. "If that man makes us scrub the floor with toothbrushes, I'll be sure to steal his right before we go down there." He let out a bitter laugh. "I can handle anything that git can throw at me."
He frowned when she didn't kiss him. "Aw, who cares? What more can he do to us?" And to prove his point, he leaned over and kissed her once. "And you're welcome," he said, smiling faintly at her. "I always put those I care about before everything else. I've always been that way. It's in my nature. Though I don't know where I got it from." He shrugged.
"Oh, the sunrise..." he frowned. "Well, we can still watch it from inside the castle, if that's alright with you?" he asked. "Oh!" He turned around and aimed his wand, which he'd just pulled out, at the tree. "Accio blankets!" he said, and they came zooming towards them. He held out him arms after he stowed away his wand, and caught them easily. "Don't want to forget them," he said, grinning.
