The multiplex-chain, Cineworld, announced that their profits earned this year received a sizable boost thanks to blockbusters such as
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,
The Simpsons Movie and
Pirates of the Carribean 3.
There is a definite improvement from the £7.7 million loss incurred last year, as they calculated this year's pre-tax profit to be a whopping £12.4 million. Cineworld states that 2007 was a good year for the film industry, as there were many blockbuster hits released to boost the ticket sales.
Cineworld hopes to continue this booming success with many different marketing strategies, such as improved drinks and food sales. With the slowing economy, it will take more blockbuster hits such as another
Harry Potter film to keep their ticket sales soaring.
