These posts are getting longer and longer! 0_0 Yeahhh, Mr White! Yeah science! “Oh.. nothing, love.” Nathan replied and waved his hand dismissively. “Just reminded me of something.” he told her.
He inwardly breathed a sigh of relief as Angelina started to tell him the things that she liked. Fencing? He raised an eyebrow. “Fencing is very muggle.” ...for a girl like Angelina anyway. He gave her a smile – “winged horse racing sounds amazing!.. “I’m impressed, Angelina.” He said genuinely. He wasn’t expecting the girl to open up at all. He watched the young woman as she described the winged horse – perhaps there was more to Angelina than just work and more work.
Nathan smiled at the mention of Quidditch. “I loved quidditch when I was at school. Was on the school team. Played beater …and sometimes keeper.” he smiled fondly at this memory. “I haven’t played since I left.” He looked at Angelina as, “Did you play any sports at school?” More questions. Leave the poor woman alone, Nate.
Again, the piano was a very muggle thing. Nathan chose not to say this – he was sure Angelina wouldn’t appreciate the comment. “I play too… a bit.” He replied. “And I play the guitar too.” He nodded.
He chuckled at Angelina’s comments about Beaubatons. “What house were you in, love?” Nathan asked with interest. The house system at Hogwarts seemed to be pretty important to the students who had attended there, but Nathan didn’t quite understand why. “I went to Durmstrang.” He answered “Good school, but a little strict.” A lot strict.
“You’ve never ever read a muggle book?” Nathan looked flabbergasted by this revelation. “Shakespeare, Dickens …Stephen King.” He said the latter with a smirk. “You really should read some, love. You don’t know what your missing.”
He laughed as she said she was magic dependent. “It’s not impossible.” He said with another chuckle. “I really think you should give it a go.” he winked at her. He was sure she could do it. Whether she wanted to though, was a very different matter.
Angelina obviously didn’t like Nathan laughing at her expense. He promptly shut up looked at Angelina. She was so different to Klara he had met earlier in the cafeteria. She and Nathan had been completely on the same wavelength. It was very difficult to find common ground here. “I know.” Nathan said quietly as Angelina said his father wasn’t the only blood purist around. He didn’t say anything else – he hated talking about his fascist of a father, especially to a stranger.
Nathan almost, almost rolled his eyes as Angelina congratulated him on his engagement, but he resisted the temptation. Yet another depressing topic of conversation. “I was engaged.” Was all he said before nodding and making his way over to the bar. He returned with a pint and a firewhiskey for himself, and that coffee for Angelina. The woman certainly got through a lot of the stuff.
