Upon pulling the plant out of the soil, the four gardeners in question witnessed a common brown rat being discovered; it had been burrowing in the greenhouse soil. The loud screech was made by the rat; the four individuals fainted due to excessive heat and a buildup of nitrous oxide in the greenhouse. One person claimed to have seen a humanoid creature attached to the plant; it in fact saw the rat clawing the roots of the plant. This hallucination was also caused by the nitrous oxide.
