Axel looked up and gave Emmy an apologetic look. He knew that his words had definitely come off the wrong way after he saw the expression covering her beautiful face. That was how he meant it at all, he was merely speaking on a whim. Besides, he didn't know when he'd be able to speak again. this whole day had taken away his vocal chords...or so it appeared.

At Ben's next words, Axel closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. No matter how much he wanted to say no, only to satisfy his best friend, he couldn't bring himself to go against such a strong emotion. Did he love Emmy? Without a doubt. She was his world. Unable to speak those words, he merely nodded once as his gaze fell to the floor. There was no denying it. He was head over heels in love with Emmy and nothing could ever change that.

Lainie began speaking which caught the young man's attention. She seemed to be calming down, but there was still something about the way she was breathing and the look in her eye that said something was wrong. He furrowed his brow and listened intently as the little girl spoke. A mission? What was she talking about? 'Wemmy'? Who was that. Then it all clicked.

Sea green eyes went wide as everything finally fell into place. "Did you just say...Remmy?" he asked, astounded as he looked from Lainie to Emmy to Ben and back again. This was not possible. There was no way this creep was still in contact with anyone from his close family and friend circle. "Laih, what kind of mission did he send you on? Where is he?!" His voice was urgent and his hands were shaking again. How could this be possible? This had to be a nightmare, yes a nightmare; he would wake up in a couple seconds. Squeezing his eyes shut then opening them wide again he found that it was not a dream, but it was the cruel reality.
