When AJ's mouth dropped and she hugged Rosalie, she actually smiled, and laughed. They'd certainly not talked in a long time. Her father being locked up was a good thing as far as she was concerned. Her and Jay both wanted to have at him...but at least neither of them had to worry about getting in trouble now.
"My father and I never got along. I just wish that I got a chance to turn my wand on him before he got locked up." Rosalie told AJ honestly. Maybe she'd forgotten the scars she had shown up to school with in her first and second years...before she'd run away. "It's not that horrible. I hate that they took my gran too...but...she's a tough old bat. She'll give those dementors something to fight for." Rosalie sated with a smile on her glossy lips.
"They took mum and gran to for not having turned him in. They knew he was planning it. They could have stopped it, but they didn't." Rosalie explained to AJ. Her mother had always been terrified of defying her father. That had worn off on Rosalie for the first few years of her life. It was a trait the disappeared once she got to Hogwarts.
"I have considered trying to adopt Mika but...I'm only seventeen, and she's--" Rosalie sighed. Her life would certainly be changed if she did. But could she honestly stand the idea of Mikaila in the home of a stranger? Maybe she didn't know her sister, but that didn't matter did it? They were sisters.
Her train of thought hit a brick wall at AJ's question about her new possessions.
"Gran was independently wealthy. My father was as well, and he only inherited a fraction of the Hale fortune when my Grandfather died. I now own her house, and have the key to her vault..." Rosalie explained haltingly. The idea still boggled her mind. She'd never have to work a day in her life.
"I'm pretty sure I could find you a room to stay in if you need it." Rosalie added with a smile. At least she wouldn't be alone once Whende went back to school...
