He took a step closer to her and placed both of his hands on her shoulder, "will you try listening to yourself? You sound absurd!" he scowled at the flashing lights for not being able to see her face. "It is my fault for taking a job at the ministry, but in no way should you judge me in that respect or judge my alliance, you do not know me very well in this case Macadrian" he clenched his jaw again, "now can we retrace back for a moment?" he looked down at her a bit hopeful. "If i have heard or known about you getting fired, i would have worked hard on reversing it. And since i haven't come across anything of this sort, i must say you have no idea what your talking about! Now can you explain to me, what makes you think your fired? this can't revolve around the locked office door?" he dug his hand deep inside his robe pocket and pulled out a rusted goldish skeletal key, "this office door to be specific?" Macadrian's eyes nearly popped out of her head as Fabian began yelling back at her, calling her ridiculous and absurd. The nerve of that man! How dare he treat me like a child! Of course, she was acting like one, but still! She was about to give him a few more choice words, but was halted by him grasping her shoulders and attempting to calm her down. Something in his face, in his attempt to not lose his temper, made Mac feel incredibly guilty and incredibly... grateful. Being angry was taking too much energy out of her, so she had no choice but to force herself to calm down; otherwise, she might likely collapse on the dance floor. In response to Fabian's questioning about why she thought she was getting fired, Macadrian drew in a deep breath and let out a long sigh. She met his eyes and was about to begin with her reasoning when she saw a glint of light reflecting off a key in Fabian's hands. She gasped, "How did you get that if I'm not being fired? I don't understand..." Macadrian's mind was whirling now and she wasn't entirely sure what was going on anymore. "None of this makes sense. Believe it or not, me getting fired probably makes more sense. I just assumed... how could I not... angering the Minister... hurtful words..." Macadrian kept rambling, her thoughts falling out of her mouth, but not making much sense. She had zoned out into the inner workings of her mind. Quote:

Once more, Angela attempted to cut into the conversation, trying to reassure her colleague that she wasn’t being fired. “Macadrian, please. Won’t you please go speak to the Headmistress about all this? I sincerely doubt that you’re being fired.” She pleaded, not wanting to see the young woman leave. Glancing at Fabian as Macadrian’s harsh words were directed at him, Angela bit her bottom lip. This was so wrong. Assumptions were being made, and hurtful words were being exchanged. It was easy to see that Fabian was becoming frustrated with this entire scenario and Angela could say that she couldn’t blame him. But she could also see that he was trying to remain understanding despite the situation. Glancing over as Fabian pulled out a key from his robes, Angela looked over at Macadrian hoping that this was the key to her office door, and that they could all calm down and think rationally for a moment. Goodness knows they didn’t need any more outbursts. Others would begin to take notice. "Perhaps we should take this elsewhere." She suggested in a murmur. Macadrian had forgotten that Angela was standing there until she heard her voice quietly trying to intervene. Coming out of her mental marathon, Macadrian turned to Angela and took her hands into her own. Something in the tone of Angela's voice, her kindness perhaps, calmed Macadrian down further. She gave a small smile to Angela and replied, "Thank you for your encouragement. Perhaps I should have spoken to the Headmistress all along, instead of marching in here like a banshee with heartburn. I just got caught up in my emotions and ran away with them. I am so very sorry to have interrupted your dance and I'm sorry if I offended you in any way."
