"I rather got a different impression" he finally said, it was not a question, more of a statement. The sudden tap on his shoulder made him halt on spot, still holding Angela in their twirling pose. Whoever picked this time to intervene with a dance, was obviously in for a long wait. The words that followed however, made him initially freeze, but then loosen his hold on Angela and eventually releasing her. "Macadrian!" Fabian croaked, he was more than shocked at her alarming behavior and maybe even more at her words. For one, he never saw her this mad at him which surprisingly irked him for her misjudgment, but that didn't bother him as much as... what was she saying? Dance with someone other than her? that made him smile sheepishly, but he tried to control it by pressing his lips together. "I would have danced with you if I have seen you" he pointed his index finger at her in defense. With the sudden stroke of light he spotted her teary eyes, whatever rush of emotion spread through his body made his face acidic. "Macadrian" he whispered, taking a few steps closer to her, "are you crying?". Maybe that came out wrong, but she took him by surprise. "No one is on anything. And I'm probably the reason behind your locked office, no one had anything to do with it", that should calm her down. He was sure about it. Macadrian's jaw dropped to the ground when the first words out of Fabian's mouth was about dancing with her - was he dense? Did he not hear her say she was leaving Hogwarts? Finding her voice, Macadrian responded with forced calmness, "After all I just said to you, why would you choose dancing as the topic of most importance! I'm being fired, and you think my problem is with you not dancing with me?! You can dance with whoever you like - my point was that you'd rather be dancing instead of saying goodbye to me, when you may never see me again but the rest of the staff will be here once I'm gone!" Macadrian then realized how cruel those words sounded, saying she didn't care about dancing with him. It wasn't how she meant it to come out but in her anger, she wasn't thinking clearly. When he spotted the tears welled up in her eyes, Macadrian sighed exasperatedly, letting go of her anger, "Of course, I'm crying. I'm being sacked and I'll never return to Hogwarts again. I may be strong, but that makes me a bit upset. And to think the entire staff..." Macadrian retrieved a tissue from her clutch purse and dabbed her eyes. Just as Macadrian had absorbed some of her tears, she heard Fabian take the blame for her office being locked, and the anger rushed over her again. "You're responsible for me getting fired? I knew you seemed awfully chummy with Agatha and with your history of working at the Ministry, I guess I should have seen this coming! So all term, were you just pretending to be my friend so that it would hurt more when you betrayed me? Well, mission accomplished!" Macadrian turned on her heel and began to storm off the dance floor.
