The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Snapping out of her foggines Ari shook her head wondering what it was she saw. She needed to be sure of whatever it was so started to close her eyes again, riding herself of all thoughts, all distractions. When the only sound she heard was her own deep breathing she began counting from ten to one.
This time she felt diffrent, like she was floating in mid air, nothing holding her up. She kept her eyes closed for a few minutes longer, concentrating on her breathing and nothing else. Soon the light feeling stopped, as suddenly as it began and she shuddered slightly, as if coming to a stop at a train station.
She opened her eyes, not even knowing she was diong it and gazed into the crystal ball, her eyes widdening as she saw ... nothing. Absolutly nothing but that white cloudy figure coming closer to her. Or so it seemed. Everything seemed black and white as she continued looking into the ball, a small shudder going through her.
Suddenly the fog in the ball seemed to part, allowing something to come through. The shape was blurry but it looked like a person. It only lasted for a split second, but it was long enough for Ari to get a good look. Clouds of swilrling black and grey began to emerge, moving quickly, making Ari's eyes sting. She blinked them back, moving her face closer to the ball as she gazed at the clouds.
Colours began to emerge, light pinks and pale blues. She blinked back a tear as she watched, mesmerized by what was happening. Her hands tightened around her as a, well something, streaked past the image. Her eyes widened as everything stopped suddenly, the crystal ball returning to its dormat state.
Ari shuddered again and sat back, her heart beating as a smile emerged on her face. She had seen something, that's for sure. If it was what she thought it was then her suspicions were correct. But if it wasn't, then she was in trouble. Not serious trouble, but ... she shook the dark thought from her mind, her heart returning to normal.
